CPC continues to support City Relief (formerly the Relief Bus). This organization supports the homeless in the Newark area and New York City. They are based out of Elizabeth, New Jersey. When the CPC team is out on the relief bus, we help out by providing hygiene kits to the guests. We are getting low on some of those supplies. We are asking the congregation to help out by supplying the following items:
-individually wrapped soap
-travel size toothpaste
-travel size deodorant
-travel size hand sanitizer

Please drop off your donations in the bins on the steps outside of Fellowship Hall. If you have any questions, please contact Rick or Leslie Hyman. Thank you for helping!

Ukrainian Refugee Resettlement
Dave and Laurel Kelly recently began serving on a local interfaith Welcome Circle as CPC representatives. This Welcome Circle is associated with a national organization that specializes in humanitarian refugee resettlement in the United States. Our goal is to bring a Ukrainian family to the Hunterdon County area within the next 6 months to a year. We are just getting started, but keep your eyes open for updates and opportunities to get involved over the next several months.

Faith in Action Collections
Our Mission Ministry Team sponsors monthly collections of items which can be distributed locally to meet needs. Items range from diapers to socks to soup to school supplies. Collection baskets are in Fellowship Hall and the sanctuary.

Days of Service
Once a year we invite the entire church to engage with a day of service. We gather early on a Saturday morning to pray together then head out in smaller groups to serve alongside agencies in the local area who are engaged in vital work. This helps us to connect our giving and our serving in a ery concrete way.

Family Promise
Family Promise of Hunterdon is the only homeless shelter for families in Hunterdon County. It is a unique community partnership of staff and volunteers from a vast network of congregations throughout Hunterdon County. The families are offered continuum of services that includes shelter, food, homeless prevention/rapid re-housing, mental health services and after-shelter support.

City Relief (Relief Bus)
Members from CPC serve on the third Friday of each month (April 15 and May 20) with City Relief, a local organization which has transformed two former school buses into mobile resource centers to help the poor and the homeless in NJ and NYC. This is an opportunity to serve which will not only change the lives of others, but will also change your life.

Thanksgiving Baskets
Each year our congregation gathers food items and makes monetary donations so that we can put together food baskets to help families in our local area. We package and deliver approximately 50 baskets each year. Items are collected from the end of October through Mid-November and then we come together to assemble the baskets on the third Sunday in November.

Giving Tree
In mid-November, a Christmas Tree appears in the back of our sanctuary, adorned with gift tags of wish list items for local families. Members are invited to select a tag and purchase a gift as a way of being a blessing during the Christmas Season. This is wonderful way for folks of all ages to be involved in giving back.
